Marco Style Gift Guide: Boozy

If you have a friend who appreciates a good libation, you certainly don’t want to get caught gifting them with the wrong beer or wine. These are some special gifts for drink lovers that stand out from the pack. Don’t forget to view my Hostess with the Mostess Gift Guide and Foodie Gift Guide, too.

Ready-Made Mixology

Cocktail-infused ice cubes make a great gift for drink lovers

Sure any cocktail lover enjoys whipping up a cocktail from scratch, but it’s also nice to enjoy something special on auto pilot. Herb & Lou’s cocktail infused ice cubes come ready to freeze, then pop out of the container, combine with liquor and enjoy. Choose from Peach (imagined to pair with vodka), Cucumber Watermelon (imagined for Tequila, or my pick, Blood Orange (Imagined for Bourbon).

Cocktail Smoking Box

A cocktail smoking box is the trendiest gift for a cocktail lover

This is the newest trend in cocktails. The tabletop smoker comes with wood chips. Use it to infuse cocktails or foods with a savory, smoky flavor. Who doesn’t want to make a smoked Manhattan at home?

Deco Barware Set

A deco barware set looks sleek and sophisticated out on display, making it a perfect holiday gift

Sure, anyone who loves making cocktails probably already has these tools, but do they have a beautiful set that is meant to be displayed proudly on their bar? These brass-finished tools come with a solid marble base—Mad Men coupes and shaker sold separately.

Tasting for Two at Virago Spirits

Stop by Virago Spirits to taste rum and rum cocktails. A gift certificate is a great boozy gift.
The Hot Coco Chanel is one of the rum-based cocktails you can try during a sampling at Virago Spirits in Scott’s Addition.

One of Richmond’s newest distilleries is selling tasting gift certificates. Your $26 gets the recipient two tastes of rum and a mini cocktail or two mini cocktails at the beautiful, cozy, Scott’s Addition spot. Stop by the distillery to pick it up. Make sure to tell them not to miss the Port Cask Finished Rum.

Old Fashioned Kit

You need to assemble this yourself. So take your pick of the parts your recipient would like best. Get your friend all the fixings to whip up a perfect Old Fashioned at home. Start with a cocktail mixing glass and spoon. Add some sphere ice molds. For the actual drink, get Luxardo cherries (also available locally at Stella’s Grocery), sugar cubes, and artisan bitters. And, if you want to top it off with liquor, add a bottle of locally made Hunter & Scott Whiskey.
