Okay, we’re at that point in the year where it’s past Christmas. Spring is a ways away, and the weather seems to vacillate between deep freezes and warm weather teases. With the radiators in my Fan apartment flipping on and off, my skin is looking dry, dull and dehydrated. Here are the winter skin care products I’m using to try to keep my face in line.

Winter Night Cream: Eminence Organic Skincare Monoi Age Corrective Night Cream
During a recent facial at Scents of Serenity, I told my esthetician I was only using serum at night. She mentioned that my skin was looking dry and suggested I try Eminence Organic Skincare Monoi Age Corrective Night Cream. While my forehead had been feeling rough and tight, I now wake up with skin that feels soft, moisturized and refreshed. My face feels youthful and brighter without seeming oily. The cream is made with Argan stem cells and nutmeg seed to smooth skin along with other softening ingredients. I also like that Eminence products are organic.
Winter Serum: Eminence Bamboo Firming Fluid
Of course I’ve heard all the good things about retinol reducing signs of aging and boosting collagen production. But I’ve also been a tad nervous about rumors that it can irritate skin—my face tends toward sensitive. So, when I heard that Eminence Bamboo Firming Fluid was a natural retinol alternative I decided to give it a try. The combination of proteins, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals was designed to strengthen skin, balance PH, delay signs of aging, fight free radicals, and tighten/firm skin. I don’t have too many wrinkles, but I do feel like since I’ve been using this, a few of the fine lines I obsess over on my forehead are looking better! I also feel like my skin is looking fresher and plumper.
Winter Moisturizer: Peter Thomas Roth 10% Glycolic Solutions Moisturizer
The other issue with dry skin is if you don’t exfoliate it properly, you can get break outs. There’s nothing like having skin that is both dry and breaking out at the same time. Trust me I know. This Peter Thomas Roth 10% Glycolic Solutions Moisturizer contains glycolic acid that exfoliates the skin and helps smooth the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. I do feel like it has helped keep my skin glowing even on the dullest of days.
Best Winter Skin Cleanser: African Botanics Baobab Clay Oxygenating Clay Cleanser
Well, thanks to FabFitFun, I have found another high end skincare line I am obsessed with. African Botanics is a Luxury, Los Angeles-based skincare line featuring products made in South Africa. This water-based cleanser includes African clay to refine pores and accelerate healing of blemishes and acne alongside Kigelia Africana, baobab fruit, Vitamin C and minerals to tighten, tone, oxygenate and mattify while botanicals like sandalwood and cedarwood calm, rebalance and hydrate. I like that I’m getting the deep clean my winter skin needs, but without having so much moisture stripped that my skin freaks out and breaks out.
Best Winter Face Mask: Peter Thomas Roth Un-Wrinkle 24 Karat Gold Intense Wrinkle Sheet Mask (on sale now on Rue La La)
Okay, there’s no way around it, these sheet masks aren’t cheap. And honestly, the first time I purchased them was at T.J. Maxx. But, they are super luxurious when you need to replenish dull, dehydrated skin. The mask does contain 24-karat gold, which is supposed to soothe skin and provide anti-inflammatory benefits, along with 18 peptides and neuropeptides to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Plus, hyaluronic acid improves hydration. I haven’t used the masks with enough consistency to comment on any wrinkle reduction benefits. However, I do know if I slap one on when I feel like my skin is looking particularly lackluster, it looks supple, rejuvenated and refreshed with a slight glow afterward.
Best Winter Eye Treatment: Estee Lauder Stress Relief Eye Mask
I am constantly trying different under-eye treatments. This one may not be the most intense, but it makes the list for its easy application and quick results. Just pop these thin, pre-moistened pads under your eyes for 10 minutes. The pads are actually thin enough that you can walk around with them on and they won’t fall off! A blend of aloe vera and cucumber will revitalize puffy or tired eyes. These are so easy you can use them before work after a late night, even if you’re running late!
