I know, it’s a little warmer this week, but we’re still in the thick of winter when I get kind of lazy about my wardrobe. When I wake up and it’s cold and dark outside, pulling on a high maintenance outfit just sounds miserable. You know what sounds do-able? A big, cozy, over-sized sweater. Like this Free People sweater I scored at the Monkee’s after Christmas sale:
It’s big enough that it falls somewhere between a sweater and a dress and it’s just the right amount of slouchy to be loose and cozy without looking sloppy. The style is sold out locally at Monkee’s, but you can find it online here. Sorry, it’s not under $50, but it is under $100. If you decide to go for it, I was able to size down.
Along these lines, I have selected some over-sized sweaters for under $50 that would make a perfect addition to your cozy winter wardrobe.
To make your outfit easy, effortless and chic pair it with leggings and boots. If you’re looking for leggings, my favorites are Spanx. Several friends have recently asked me about the faux leather Spanx leggings. I have them and love them. In real life the texture doesn’t really look like leather, but it does have a distinctive sheen that’s stylish and flattering. Plus, the Spanx suck everything in for a smooth, sleek line.
