Okay, okay, I wasn’t going to do a Father’s Day hit list, but the people have been asking. So, here you go. My dad isn’t here in Richmond, Virginia, so I won’t be celebrating with him, but some of these events are tempting, even without a dad in tow. Also, several of these events take place on more than just Sunday, too, so you can celebrate all weekend.
Father’s Day Events in Richmond, Virginia
The All-Out Swanky Father’s Day Feast: Fleming’s 3-Course Father’s Day Dinner and Bourbon Tasting
Today through Sunday, Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar is offering a special three-course menu. The crown jewel of the meal is a 35-ounce Prime Tomahawk steak served with dad’s choice of signature butter. Yes please. Dad can also order a special tasting of Basil Hayden’s, Buffalo Trace and Knob Creek bourbons to round out his special meal. Along with the special menu, the regular menu will also b e available all weekend.
And, if dad is more of a brunchy guy, Fleming’s opens at 10 a.m. on Father’s Day with a three-course brunch menu. Fleming’s Steak & Egg Scramble featuring sliced filet mignon, blistered tomatoes and caramelized onions served with a scramble of farm fresh eggs and vegetables sounds like a dad-approved brunch dish. Make your reservations here.
A Casual Dad’s Day: Burgers!
There are two tasty burger specials happening around Father’s Day. First off, Carytown Burgers & Fries is offering buy-one-get-one-free burgers when you bring dad in for a patty on Saturday or Sunday. You just have to dine in and mention “DAD” to get the deal at any of the Carytown Burgers & Fries locations.
And, for fry daddies, bring your dad to any of the Burger Bach locations on Sunday for one free small or large order of fries per dad.
Dad’s Day Pig Out: Center of the Universe
If your dad is a smoke master, give him the day off and take him to Center of the Universe Brewing Company on Sunday where Grandpa Eddie’s BBQ Mobile Kitchen will be smoking multiple pigs on-site. You can just bring dad to the brewery, or swing by before and snag a ticket for $5 that gives dad something to open on Father’s Day and a free beer when he arrives at the event. Food will be sold a la carte. There will also be live music, special pit master-centric gift boxes from Gifted RVA, and frozen yogurt from Sweet Frog.
Salty Dad: Hardywood Father’s Day Keg n’ Oyster Fest
Take dad to Hardywood’s Richmond taproom on Sunday between 12 and 6 p.m. for oyster stout, crab cakes, and Rappahannock oysters. This is the fifth year for this event and it’s popular with the food selling out ever year, so go early! If dad likes beer and not seafood, there will be several other food trucks on site.
