I firmly believe that one of the best parts of visiting a new place is shopping (duh). There’s nothing like discovering a special home good or accessory in an off-the-beaten path boutique, then bringing it home to enjoy. On my Greece trip a few years ago, I particularly loved browsing the breezy, beach-inspired fashions and decor. Sadly, I can’t jaunt off to Greece to refresh my wardrobe each season. But I can get a taste of that spectacular boho-chic Greek style at Our Life, the new boutique from the Giavos family.
Where to Find Our Life by Stella’s
Our Life opened last weekend in a chic white tiny house/trailer parked right outside another Giavos superstar business, Stella’s Grocery on Lafayette Street. Katrina and Johnny Giavos’ daughter Maria who lives in New York and studied at Parsons School of Design is selecting the stylish, well-curated inventory of apparel, accessories, jewelry, art, and home goods. The inventory will continue to expand as the family works on a more permanent location in the same strip with Stella’s and Stella’s Grocery.
What You’ll Find at Our Life by Stella’s
I stopped in to shop last Friday. No surprise, the selection of shoes immediately drew my attention. Fun slip-on sneakers embellished with coins sat next to espadrille-style sandals, all priced between about $80 and $100.
Other inventory that caught my eye spanned metal jewelry with colorful thread embellishments, luxurious beach towels, flowy printed caftans, and funky salt-and-pepper shakers shaped like little sculptures.
Of course, I took home two pairs of espadrilles. One style is flat with embroidered flowers. The stacked sole is so comfortable, I’ve already worn them several times.
The other pair is a higher wedge that make my legs look long and trim. You can see why I had to purchase them. I left behind a pair of blush suede slide sandals with slouchy bows across the foot bed. However, I’m still envisioning throwing them on with some skinny jeans or a T-shirt shift dress for brunch.
